Massimo Bersani come tanti inizia per passione ma poi realizza il sogno di trasformare la passione in lavoro. Autodidatta riesce a imparare quanto occorre per potersi muovere con disinvoltura nei vari campi della fotografia professionale dalla fotografia industriale alla pubblicità alla moda . All’inizio degli anni 90 ottiene vari riconoscimenti in campo nazionale e internazionale fra cui la selezione quale miglior fotografo di cerimonia nella sessione delle stagioni del ritratto nella primavera del 1994 concorso promosso dalla kodak e sempre per la kodak nel 1996 è selezionato fra i migliori fotografi ritrattisti italiani del concorso “european gold award” sempre al concorso per fotografi ritrattisti italiani indetto dalla Agfa nel 1997 un suo ritratto vince il terzo premio. Una serie di immagini con tema le donne viene selezionato all’”Austrain Hasselblad Circuit” e al “ The Best of Circuit” in Austria. . altro importante riconoscimento arriva dalla Nikon infatti al “Nikon International Photo Contest 1997“ sempre con un ritratto riceve la menzione d’onore. Con una serie di immagini panoramiche al “PanHorama ry of Finland” vince il primo premio. Nel 1998 con il privilegio di una conferenza in Finlandia per illustrare la propria tecnica di ripresa panoramica. Varie foto sono state selezionate per mostre e biennali di fotografia in Italia (Trevi Flash Art Museum) Spagna , Inghilterra, Israele e Francia dove a San Maxim sulla costa azzurra vince con un ritratto il primo premio quale migliore opera in concorso.
