Ho sempre dipinto cio che amo vedere, e nutro un particolare amore per l'acqua ed il mare, forse perché vengo da Stavanger, vicino al mare e ho spesso l'occasione di anadare in barca a vela durante i week ends e le vacanze nei fiordi e lungo la costa della Norvegia. Esprimendo elementi marini e motivi marittimi in pigmenti solubili in acqua, mi ha portatata ad esplorare il rapporto tra forma e presenza umana in contrasto contro un un paesaggio nell'ambiente circosatante. Il contrasto luce/ombra mi ha sempre attirata. Questa continua sfida e presente in "come far cantare i colori"

Sono sempre stata appassionata alla pittura figurativa e non a olio e acrilico fino al 2002. Il passaggio all'acquarello e avvenuto dopo aver frequentato un laboratorio per acquarelli con Rose Edin. Il suo modo di insegnare era facile da seguire e apri secrete porte per me dentro ai segreti dell'acquarello. Per migliorare le mie abilita in questa tecnica ho continuato a frequentare workshops con alcuni dei piu eccelenti aritsti: Rose Efin, Charles Reid, Linda Kemp, Pat Dews e Anders Wallin, Elizabeth Englud per nominarne alcuni.

Gli artisti che hanno influenzato il mio lavoro sono Edward Munch, Paul Cezanne, Claude Monet, Jeanne Dobie, Lars Lerin, Arne Isacsson. Ammiro Arne Isacsson per la sua persistenza nel voler elevare il prestigio dell'acquarello e per il suo impegno a far si che l'acquarello abbia il suo posto accanto ai dipinti ad olio ed in acriclico. I have always painted what I want to see and have an affection for painting water and maritime motives, perhaps this comes from living in Stavanger, close to the sea, and having the opportunity to sail at weekends and holidays, in the fjords and along the coast around Norway. Expressing the elements of the sea and maritime motifs in water soluble pigment, has led to an exploration of the relationship between form and the human presence in contrast against an abstracted landscape found within the surrounding environment. The contrast of light and shadow has also always intrigued me. The continuous challenge is present of "how to make the colours sing".

I have enjoyed painting both non-figurative and figuratively in oils and acrylics until 2002. The shift to watercolour came after attending a watercolour workshop with Rose Edin. Her way of teaching was so easy to follow and she opened the doors into some of the secrets of watercolours. To improve my skills in watercolour I have been attending workshops continuously with some of the most excellent artists: Rose Edin, Charles Reid, Linda Kemp, Pat Dews and Anders Wallin, Elisabeth Englund, just to mention some of them.

Artists that have influenced me are Edvard Munch, Paul Cezanne, Claude Monet, Jeanne Dobie, Lars Lerin, Arne Isacsson. I admire Arne Isacsson for his persistency to raise the prestige of water color and for his engagement to make water color stand on it’s own, along with oil and acrylic painting.
